// FREQUENTLY ASKED

How do I get the app? +
Paladin is on the iOS App Store. Tap the Download button on the homepage or search 'Paladin' on the App Store. Three-day free trial unlocks every mechanic, every rank, every badge.
What iOS version do I need? +
iOS 18 or later. iPhone only at MVP. No iPad, Mac, Watch, or web app.
Why is there no Android version? +
We're shipping one platform well rather than two badly. The target audience overweights iOS in our launch geographies (US/Canada/UK), and CloudKit's privacy guarantees only exist on Apple platforms. Android is a post-PMF question.
Do I need to make an account? +
No. Paladin uses CloudKit's private database via your existing Apple ID, invisible to us. There is no email, no username, no password, no Sign-in-with-Apple flow, no profile to set up.
What does the trial cost? +
$0 for three days. The full app is unlocked: every mechanic, the panic flow, all 9 ranks, every badge. No feature-gating during trial.
What happens after the trial? +
After three days the app hard-paywalls. You pick monthly ($9.99/mo) or annual ($49.99/yr, save 58%) to keep going. We send a push 24 hours before the trial converts so you're never surprised.
How do I cancel? +
iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Paladin → Cancel. Apple handles billing. We don't ship a custom cancel funnel, retention popups, or 'are you sure?' interstitials.
Will the app block sites for me? +
iOS already has a curated content filter: Apple's 'Limit Adult Websites' setting via Screen Time. It works across Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and most in-app browsers. Paladin walks you through enabling it and locking it down with three valid Screen Time passcode methods (trusted person, blind muscle memory, or generated code), plus the critical Apple ID recovery skip step.
What if I miss a day? +
You have a 7-day late-log window. Mark a missed day as sober (or as a slip) from the catch-up sheet, and your sober streak survives. Live check-ins are the bright cyan in the consistency calendar; retroactive ones are softer. Your record reflects what actually happened.
What happens if I slip? +
You log it. The relapse handler is one calm screen with your declaration on it: 'This is who you said you want to become. That hasn't changed.' Rank is preserved (no demotion, only partial reset to start of current rank). Badges are preserved. Lifetime streak keeps moving. Slip logging is force-quit-resistant. Your honesty counts.
Can I use Paladin for other habits like alcohol, gambling, or smoking? +
Not at MVP. Paladin is hardcoded to porn recovery: copy, mechanics, panic flow defaults, all of it. Multi-substance support is a V2 question.
Why no AI feature? +
We considered an AI talk-down feature and cut it. LLMs hallucinate, lose memory between sessions, cost meaningful per-user money, and compete with the user's real-life support. The structured panic flow (breathing, identity, reasons, action) runs entirely offline and works the same way every time.
